Our Services at the AGC Animal Shelter
Animal Care and Adoption Program
We take in strays and owner surrenders from Henry County, IA as resources and foster homes allow. We provide all of our animals with the necessary medical care, including vaccinations, spaying/neutering, and treatment for any illnesses or injuries they may have. Once animals have all their medical and behavior needs met, they are available for adoption.
Rehoming
We offer a variety of rehoming resources and services. These include, sharing post owners have made, creating posts, helping owners make plans for their pets, and more. You can find our list of rehoming resources and services here.
Trap Neuter Release
Do you have feral or community cats roaming your neighborhood? We are here to help! We offer TNR services that include, financial assistance, setting traps, and transportation. The cats are returned to their place of origin spayed/neutered and vaccinated. This prevents reproduction and increases public safety. You can learn more here.
Animal Outreach
One of the biggest reasons AGC began was to connect with socially isolated individuals. We bring adoptable pets and our ambassador cat, Cleo, to various locations in the county. These include, nursing homes, organizations such as Hope Haven and Optimae, and more. We even have a foster program starting with the Mt. Pleasant Correctional Facility.
